Slow Cooker Tequila-Poached Pears

Slow cooker tequila-poached pears. Yummy dessert cooked in slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 4 Anjou pears,peeled
  • 1 cup (250 ml) tequila
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • juice and zest of 1 lime
  • 11½ oz (335ml) pear nectar
  • 2 cups (500 ml) water
  • vanilla ice cream

Method

Step 1

Place peeled pears in slow cooker. In a medium saucepan,combine remaining ingredients.

Step 2

Stir over medium-high heat until mixture boils. Boil for 1 minute and pour boiled mixture over pears.

Step 3

Cover slow cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 2-3 hours or until pears are tender. Serve tequila-poached pears with vanilla ice cream or chill and serve drizzled with poaching liquid and sprinkled with lime zest.
