Air Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (480 g) lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cracked pepper
  • 1 teas[poon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) milk
  • 1 pound (480 g) bacon, halved
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, peeled and chopped

Method

Step 1

Cut a piece of parchment paper and make it fit inside your air fryer basket. Using a skewer, poke holes in the parchment to allow airflow.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, egg, and onion. Mix well. Stir in breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning, then pour in the barbecue sauce and milk. Using a rubber spatula, combine all ingredients. Do not overmix.

Step 3

Using a small scoop, roll the beef mixture into 24 meatballs. Wrap half slice of the bacon around each meatball, then secure it with a toothpick. Transfer bacon-wrapped meatballs to the parchment-lined air fryer basket (you may need to work in batches).

Step 4

Fry at 370 F (185 C0 for 15 minutes, or until bacon and meatballs are tender. Serve hot with barbecue sauce.
