Virgin Mojito Recipe

This is an alternative, ginger ale-based version of the famous Mojito. Very easy to make.

Makes 1 serving

Ingredients: 15 mint leaves, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) raw sugar, 1 oz (30 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice, 1/2 oz (15 ml) simple syrup, 4 oz (120 ml) chilled ginger ale ( use 4 oz (120 ml) club soda or 4 oz (120 ml) sparkling water if you prefer non-alcoholic drink)

Instructions: In a cocktail glass, muddle mint leaves. Add the sugar, simple syrup, and lime juice. Stir well. Add cubed ice. Top with ginger ale and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Strawberry Mojito Recipe

makes 1 serving

Ingredients: For the Mint Simple Syrup: 1/2 cup (125 ml) sugar, 1/2 cup (125 ml) water, 2 mint leaves, For the Mojito drink: half of the lime, cut into four wedges, 4-8 mint leaves, 4 fresh strawberries, cut into quarters, 1 oz (30 ml) mint simple syrup (see recipe below), 2 oz (60 ml) light rum, crushed ice, Club Soda

Instructions: To Make Mint Simple Syrup: In a 2-quart (2 L) saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Mix well. Stir in mint leaves, then bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved.

Remove Mint Simple Syrup from the heat and set aside. Allow the syrup to cool. Discard the mint leaves and pour them into a medium plastic container. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

For the Mojito Drink: In a 16oz (480 ml) highball glass, layer lime quarters, mint leaves, and 3 quartered strawberries. Pour in reserved mint simple syrup, then using a muddler, muddle the mixture for about 30 seconds. Stir the rum into the muddled mixture, then add crushed ice. Top with Club Soda and stir well. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve!

Ingredients

  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 lime
  • bunch of mint
  • 3 ²⁄³oz ( 50 ml) rum
  • Schweppes soda water or Sprite - 150-200 ml
  • crushed ice

Method

Step 1

Pour brown sugar into the cocktail glass.

Step 2

Cut the lime into two halves. Set one half aside. The second half cut into 3 pieces, squeeze the juice into a glass and throw cake there too. Add the mint, stir and crush a little mint leaf.

Step 3

Fill 1/3 of a glass with crushed ice, pour the rum and add Schweppes. Garnish this alcoholic cocktail Mojito with a sprig of mint and remaining slice of lime.
