Slow Cooker Apple Butter Recipe
A very healthy and easy 2-ingredient recipe.
Ingredients: Enough apples (you can use any kind) to fill your 5-quart (5 L) slow-cooker, 2-3 teaspoons (10-15 ml) ground cinnamon
Instructions: Wash apples under cold running water, making sure all apples are nice and clean. Pat them dry with paper towels. Core apples, cut in half or quarters, then place in a 5-quart (5 L) slow cooker. Close the pot and cook on a high-heat setting for 5 hours, stirring every hour.
Turn off the slow cooker and open the lid. Remove cooked apples from the pot and transfer them to a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
Meanwhile, clean your slow cooker. Return the apple mixture to the cleaned slow cooker. Stir in the ground cinnamon. Close the pot and cook on a high-heat setting for a further 1 hour, stirring twice during the cooking time.
Turn off the cooker and open the lid. Let the apple mixture cool slightly at room temperature before adding it to jars. Close the jar and refrigerate for up to four weeks.
