Fried butter prawn.Delicious Malaysian prawn recipe.Very easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (480 g) large prawns,deveined,heads and shells intact
  • cooking oil for deep frying
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 6 chilies,chopped
  • 3 sprigs of curry leaves (use only the leaves)
  • 3 cloves garlic,peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine
  • 6 tablespoons grated coconut

Method

Step 1

Chop off the eyes part of prawns. Pat dry with paper towel. Set prawns aside.

Step 2

In a deep fryer,preheat oil. Fry prawns in a hot oil. Drain and set aside.

Step 3

In a deep fryer,combine melted butter,chilies,curry leaves, garlic and salt. Fry for 2 minutes or until fragrant. Add remaining ingredients and cook over high heat,stirring,for 1-2 minutes.

Step 4

Serve fried butter prawns immediately.
