How to Make Mozzarella-Stuffed Meatballs in an Instant Pot

To make mozzarella-stuffed meatballs in an Instant Pot, you’ll need a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time. This recipe combines the classic flavors of Italian cuisine with the convenience of using an electric pressure cooker.

Start by preparing the meatball mixture. Combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, eggs, and seasonings in a bowl. Mix everything until well combined. Take a small portion of the mixture and flatten it in the palm of your hand. Place a small cube of mozzarella cheese in the center and shape the meat mixture around it, forming a ball. Repeat this process until all the meat mixture is used.

Next, it’s time to cook the meatballs in the Instant Pot. Set the pressure cooker to sauté mode and heat some oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides, working in batches if necessary. This step adds extra flavor and helps to seal in the juices.

Once the meatballs are browned, remove them from the Instant Pot and set them aside. Add some marinara sauce to the pot, along with any additional seasonings or herbs you prefer. Return the meatballs to the pot, making sure they are submerged in the sauce.

Secure the lid on the Instant Pot and set the cooking time according to the recipe instructions. The pressure cooker will do its magic, infusing the meatballs with the flavors of the sauce and melting the mozzarella cheese inside.

When the cooking time is up, carefully release the pressure and remove the lid. Serve the mozzarella-stuffed meatballs hot, garnished with fresh herbs and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. They make a delicious main course or can be served as an appetizer with crusty bread.

With this Instant Pot recipe, you can enjoy the flavors of homemade Italian meatballs without spending hours in the kitchen. The combination of tender meat, gooey cheese, and flavorful sauce is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.

How to Store Leftovers

Leftovers are a common occurrence when cooking a big batch of mozzarella-stuffed meatballs in an Instant Pot. To ensure that you can enjoy these delicious meatballs for days to come, it’s important to know how to store them properly. Here are some tips on how to store your leftovers:

1. Refrigeration: If you plan on consuming the leftovers within a few days, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Make sure to let the meatballs cool down before transferring them to the container. They can be stored for up to 3-4 days in the fridge.

2. Freezing: If you have a large amount of leftovers or want to save them for a longer period, freezing is the way to go. Place the meatballs in a freezer-safe container or freezer bag, making sure to remove as much air as possible. Label the container with the date and store them in the freezer for up to 3 months.

3. Portioning: Consider portioning the leftovers before storing them. This way, you can easily thaw and reheat only the amount you need without having to defrost the entire batch.

4. Reheating: When you’re ready to enjoy your leftover mozzarella-stuffed meatballs, you can reheat them in the microwave, on the stovetop, or in the oven. Make sure to heat them thoroughly until they are piping hot to ensure food safety.

By following these storage tips, you can make the most out of your mozzarella-stuffed meatballs and enjoy them whenever you’re in the mood for a quick and delicious meal.
