Pressure cooker beer-boiled shrimp. Shrimp boiled in beer and served with delicious homemade Rémoulade sauce. This an excellent pressure cooker shrimp recipe. You may also like Chicken in Beer, another tasty recipe cooked in a pressure cooker.

Use large shrimp, 21 to count per pound. Eat these shrimp with our luscious Louisiana-style Rémoulade sauce.

Homemade Louisiana-Style Rémoulade Sauce

ingredients: 1/2 cup (125 ml) Creole mustard, 1/2 cup (125 ml) Champagne vinegar (rice vinegar is a good substitute), 2 teaspoons sweet paprika, 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, sea salt, 1¼ cups (310 ml) olive oil, 3/4 cup chopped green onions, 3/4 cup finely chopped celery, 1/2 cup finely chopped parsley

Instructions: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the mustard, vinegar, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Whisk well. Add the mustard mixture to a food processor. Stir in olive oil and process until it forms a smooth thick sauce.

Remove the sauce from the food processor and transfer to a large bowl. Stir in chopped green onions, celery, and parsley. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Electric Pressure Cooker Beer Boiled Shrimp

Pour the beer and water into 6-8 quarts (6-8 L) electric pressure cooker. Add lemon slices and shrimp. Close the pot and lock the lid. Set the machine to cook at high pressure. Set the machine to cook for 3-5 minutes.

Pressure Cooker Beer Boiled Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 2 (12 oz (360 ml) each) bottles beer
  • 1 cup (250 ml) water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 lemon slice and 1 lemon, cut into wedges for serving
  • 2 pound (960 g) large prawns, unpeeled

Method

Step 1

In a pressure cooker, combine beer, water, bay leaf, and lemon slices. Mix well and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil for 1 minute. Add shrimp.

Step 2

Cover the pressure cooker and lock the lid. Set the burner temperature to high pressure. When the pressure cooker reaches high pressure, reduce the burner heat to low. Set a timer to cook for 3 minutes.

Step 3

Remove the pot from the heat. Carefully open the pressure cooker. The shrimp should be pink. Drain in a colander and cool under cold running water.

Step 4

Transfer cooked shrimp to a serving platter. Pour Rémoulade sauce over and serve immediately.
