Slow Cooker Honey Whole-Grain Bread Recipe
makes 8-10 servings
Ingredients: 3 cups whole wheat flour, divided, 2 cups (500 ml) warm whole milk, 1 cup all-purpose flour, divided, 1/4 cup (60 ml) clear honey, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, 1 package active dry yeast, 3/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions: using regular foil folded to double thickness, make foil handles. Put in stoneware. Crisscross foil to form spoke design across the bottom and upsides. Prepare 1-quart (1 L) baking pan which will fit in 4½-quart (4½ L) slow cooker by greasing with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1½ cups whole wheat flour, 2 cups (500 ml) milk, 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, honey, vegetable oil, yeast, and salt. Using an electric mixer, beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in remaining flour and mix well using a wooden spoon. Transfer batter to greased baking pan.
Place baking pan in 4½-quart (4½ L) slow cooker. Cover and cook on high-heat setting for 3 hours or until edges are browned and a knife inserted in the center of bread comes out clean.
Turn off and open the slow cooker. Using foil handles, lift dish form slow cooker. Let stand for 5-7 minutes, then place on a wire rack and allow cooling completely.

Slow Cooker Easy Cornbread from Scratch Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups (300 g) all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup (180 g) yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 cup (60 g) granulated sugar
- 4 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 cup (250 ml) milk
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) melted butter
Method
Step 1
In mixing bowl, sift together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center.
Step 2
Pour egg, milk, and butter into the well. Mix into a greased 2-quart mold.
Step 3
Cover with a plate. Place on a trivet or rack in the bottom of the slow cooker. Cover. Cook on High 2-3 hours.
