Slow cooker Tso’s chicken. Chicken breasts with hoisin sauce and ketchup cooked in a slow cooker. Yummy!!!
- 4 boneless and skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) water
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 cup (125 g) brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoon dry ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
In a mixing bowl, combine water, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix well.
Grease slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Add chicken breasts and pour soy mixture over.
Cover slow cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 4-6 hours. Remove cooked chicken from slow cooker and cut into chunks.
Stir cornstarch in the sauce. Return chicken to the slow cooker and cook for a further 15 minutes.
Serve cooked chicken with cooked rice.
