Slow cooker turkey Osso Bucco. Turkey tights with vegetables and dry red wine cooked in a slow cooker. Yummy! This turkey Osso Bucco recipe is an easy and tasty way to prepare your Thanksgiving turkey.

Why You Should Make Osso Bucco in a Slow Cooker

Many people make the mistake of thinking that cooking Osso Bucco in a slow cooker is a bad idea. They are convinced that this dish should be cooked in an oven. But, there are many advantages to cooking Osso Bucco in a slow cooker.

The first is that it saves you from having to babysit the dish while it cooks. You just need to set it up and let it do its thing for a few hours. This means you can go about your day without worrying about what is happening on the stovetop or in the oven.

Another advantage of making Osso Bucco in a slow cooker is that it will not dry out as quickly as if you were cooking it in an oven. This means that you will get more flavorful, tender meat when you cook this dish using your crock pot rather than your oven.

The final advantage of using a crock pot over an oven is that you do not have to worry about overcooking.

What are the Benefits of Cooking Osso Bucco in a Slow Cooker?

Slow cookers are often used to prepare dishes with long, slow cooking times. This is because the low, even heat slowly breaks down tough connective tissues in the meat, making it tender and flavorful.

The Osso Bucco is a dish that is traditionally made by braising veal shanks until they are fork-tender and then simmering them with vegetables in a rich tomato sauce. The dish can be prepared in a slow cooker by using a combination of fresh and canned tomatoes, wine, garlic, onion, and thyme.

What Should You Serve with Slow-Cooked Osso-Bucco?

Osso Bucco is a dish made from veal shanks and vegetables. It is traditionally served with risotto, but it can also be served with other types of pasta.

The most common vegetables used in the dish are carrots, onions, celery, and tomatoes. Other ingredients might include garlic cloves, bay leaves, white wine or red wine vinegar, salt, and pepper.
