Ingredients
- 1 large egg,beaten
- 1 cup (250 ml) Pale Ale
- 1 ½ (370 g) cups cake flour
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1 ½ pounds(720 g) yellow onions
- all-purpose flour for dredging
- 1 quart (1 L) vegetable oil for frying
Method
Step 1
In a mixing bowl,combine cake flour Dredge onion rings with all-purpose flour.
Shake off the excess. In Dutch oven,preheat vegetable oil to 325 F (160 C).
Dip individual onion rings into the beer mixture, then carefully add each to the hot oil. Working in a batches,fry until golden brown.
Remove fried onion rings from the oven.
Pat dry with paper towel.
Season with salt and serve immediately.
