Easy brown sugar cookies recipe. Very simple and easy molasses and brown sugar cookies baked in an oven. Prepare dough the night before and put it in the refrigerator. It rolls more easily and can be cut with a cookie-cutter without sticking.

Oven Baked Raisin Cookies Recipe

This Christmas stand-bys are a good bet all year long.

Makes 36 cookies

Ingredients: 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 oz (30 ml) milk, 1 cup (250 ml) brown sugar, 1 large egg, beaten, 1/2 cup (125 ml) unsalted butter, 1 cup (250 ml) raisins, 1¾ cups (430 ml) all-purpose flour

Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350º F (175º C). Grease a cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray. In a small mixing bowl, combine baking soda and milk. Mix well until soda dissolved. Set aside.

In another bowl, combine brown sugar, beaten egg and butter. Stir well. Add raisins and dissolved the baking soda. Stir again.

Add all-purpose flour until mixture thickens into a firm batter. Spoon batter onto greased cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven for about 5 minutes.

Turn off the oven. Remove baked cookies and cool on a wire rack.

Oatmeal and Raisin Cookies Recipe

Always keep wheat germ in the refrigerator.

Makes 48 cookies

Ingredients: 1 cup (250 ml) all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 cups (500 ml) rolled oats, 1/4 cup (60 ml) wheat germ, 3/4 cup (180 ml) unsalted butter, 1½ cups (375 ml) brown sugar, 2 large eggs, beaten, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 3/4 cup (180 ml) grated coconut, 3/4 cup (180 ml) raisins

Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350º F (175º C). Lightly grease cookie sheets with nonstick cooking spray. In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, rolled oats, and wheat germ. Mix well and set aside.

In a separate bowl, cream butter and add brown sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well and add egg mixture to the first mixture. Stir well. Stir in grated coconut and raisins.

Spoon mixture onto greased cookie sheets and bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.

Easy Brown Sugar Cookies Recipe



  • 2½ cups (625 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) unslated butter
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) molasses
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) water
  • sugar



Step 1

Preheat the oven to 250 F (125 C).

Step 2

Grease a cookie heet with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 3

In a small mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients. Mix well and set aside.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, cream butter, shortening, brown sugar, and beaten eggs. Add molasses, water, and dry mixture. Mix well.

Step 5

Spoon batter onto greased cookie sheet. Dust with sugar. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
