Fried shrimp with blue cheese sauce. This excellent meal served with blue cheese sauce has an incredible taste. Very delicious and easy to make! Use it as a main dish or appetizer.

Fried Shrimp with Blue Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (125 g) low-fat sour creme
  • 1/2 cup (125 g) low-fat mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) low-fat milk
  • 4 oz (120 g) crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1½ pounds (720 g) tiger shrimp, shelled, deveined, and tails intact
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine sour creme, mayonnaise, milk, blue cheese, lemon juice, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well, cover and refrigerate.

Step 2

In a shallow bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cayenne pepper and remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir well, then add shrimp. Toss well to coat.

Step 3

In a large nonstick skillet, heat olive oil, butter, and hot sauce.

Step 4

Add shrimp and cook, stirring, until lightly browned, for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Sprinkle chopped parsley over blue cheese sauce and serve with fried shrimp.
