Mulled wine. Brandy-based alcoholic mixed drink. Very easy and delicious Christmas drink. You may also like Raspberry Martini
Mulled Wine
Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine
- 1Β²βΒ³ oz(50 ml) brandy
- 1Β²βΒ³ oz(50 ml) Grand Marnier
- 2 teaspoons caster sugar
- 3 teaspoons clear honey
- 2 oz(60 ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 oz(60 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- few cloves
- few star anise
- 2 bay leaves
Method
Step 1
In a small cheesecloth spice bag,combine all spices. Place in a saucepan with dry red wine,brandy,and Grand Marnier.
Step 2
Add caster sugar and clear honey. Stir well until both are dissolved.
Step 3
Add juices and simmer for 1Β½ hours,stirring occasionally. Serve mulled wine hot in a heaterproof wine glass.
