Oven-baked apple pudding recipe. Very tasty dessert cooked in the halogen (turbo) oven. Make this delicious recipe in the regular oven.

Oven Baked Apple Pudding Recipe

Ingredients: 1 pound (480 g) cooking apples, 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice, 5 cloves, 1/4 cup raisins, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, whipped cream for serving

For Batter: 2 cups all-purpose flour, dash salt, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 large eggs, beaten, 2½ cups (625 ml) milk

Instructions: Peel, core, and slice the apples and sprinkle with squeezed lemon juice. Place in an even layer in a greased 1-quart (1 L) baking dish. Add the cloves and raisins and sprinkle with sugar.

To make the batter: In a small mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Stir well. Stir in 1/2 cup sugar. make a well in the center of the flour mixture, add beaten eggs, and mix a little flour into the eggs with a wooden spoon. Add half the milk, gradually, stirring in the flour from around the edge, and beat until smooth. Stir in the remaining milk.

Pour the batter over the apple mixture. Preheat your oven to 350 F (175 C). Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the pudding comes out clean. Serve hot with whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds (960 g) apples,peeled,cored and chopped
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ground almonds
  • zest of 1 lemon,grated
  • 1 egg,beaten
  • 1/4 cup almonds,sliced

Method

Step 1

Combine chopped apples and water in a saucepan. Simmer until soft and set aside. Combine together bread crumbs and honey in a mixing bowl. Mix well. Spread honey mixture evenly over bottom of an oven-proof casserole dish. Set aside.

Step 2

Using another mixing bowl, mash together the butter and sugar until smooth. Add ground almonds, lemon zest, and beaten egg. Mix until smooth.

Step 3

Spoon apples into the casserole and cover with butter. Sprinkle with sliced almonds. Preheat turbo oven to 350°F (175°C) Put the casserole on grilling rack. Bake for 30 minutes, or until lightly browned.

    I don’t have a turbo oven. Can I make this in a regular oven?

      In a regular oven bake for 45 minutes or until lightly browned and toothpick inserted into pudding comes out clean.
