Oven Baked Pizza with Kale and Mozzarella Recipe
A white pizza (“Pizza Bianca” in Italian) is made without tomato sauce or tomatoes.
Ingredients: 1/2 pound (240 h) kale, trimmed and washed, 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic, 2 anchovy fillets, chopped, 1 recipe Basic Pizza Dough, 12 oz (360 g) full-fat Mozzarella cheese, shredded
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 400º F (200º C). Cook kale in plenty of boiling water for about 5 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold running water. Squeeze out as much water with your hands as you can. Chop squeezed kale finely and set aside.
In a medium nonstick skillet, sauté garlic in oil over medium heat until it is pale gold. Add anchovy fillets to garlic and stir until dissolved. Add the kale and stir well to coat with oil.
Roll out and press pizza dough onto the baking sheet. Spread kale mixture over dough. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the dough will lift off the baking sheet. Remove pizza from the oven, sprinkle with shredded Mozzarella cheese, and slide off pan directly onto the oven rack.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Pizza with Goat Cheese and Sundried Tomatoes Recipe
Ingredients: 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon garlic, finely chopped, 3 tablespoons finely chopped sundried tomatoes, 4 tablespoons basic tomato sauce, 2 tablespoons black olive paste, 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, 1 recipe basic pizza dough, 1/2 pound (240 g) firm chèvre, cubed
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 400º F (200º C). In a medium nonstick skillet, sauté garlic in oil until light gold color. Add sundried tomatoes, tomato sauce, olive paste, and season with black pepper. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened. Set aside and allow cooling.
Roll and press pizza dough out onto the baking sheet. Spread sauce evenly over dough, then bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes, until comes away from the pan easily.
Remove pizza from the oven. Spread cheese over the sauce. Slide off pan directly onto the oven rack and bake 15-20 minutes, until lightly browned.
Oven Baked Easy Vegetarian Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, peeled and minced
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach
- 1 package refrigerated ready-to-bake pizza crust dough (10 ounces)
- 5¼ oz (160 g) part-skim mozzarella cheese,shredded
- 2 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1/8 teaspoon oregano leaves
- 3/4 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
- 2 teaspoons Italian dreesing
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°F (200 C).
Step 2
In a small saucepan, heat oil. Add garlic and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until golden, about 1 min, set aside.
Step 3
Spray 12-inch round pizza pan with nonstick cooking spray; fit pizza crust dough into the pan. Using a pastry brush, brush garlic-oil mixture evenly over dough, leaving ½ inch of the outer edge of dough uncovered. Sprinkle oiled surface of dough with mozzarella cheese. Bake for 10 min.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, parsley, spinach, Italian dressing, and oregano. Remove pizza from the oven and drop ricotta cheese by 8 rounded tablespoons in a circular pattern onto the pizza. Sprinkle pizza with Parmesan cheese mixture.
Step 5
Return to oven and bake until cheese is melted,10-15 min. Cut into 8 equal slices.
