Oven baked ham and potato cake. Delicious and cheesy potato cakes baked in oven.


  • 1 ½ pounds (720 g) medium-sized potatoes
  • 8 oz (240 g) sliced cooked ham,chopped
  • 6 oz (180 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 oz (90 g) unsalted butter,melted
  • 3 tablespoons fresh breadcrumbs
  • 5 oz (150 ml) milk
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


Step 1

Cook potatoes in boiling salted water fro 20 minutes. Set aside.

Step 2

Grease 7-inches (18 cm) sprinform tin with a little of butter and sprinkle breadcrumbs over the bottom and sides,shaking off any excess. Heat oven to 350 F (180 C).

Step 3

Drain and peel cooked potatoes,then cut into slices. Arrange a few of the slices,lightly overlapping,in the bottom of greased tin. brush potatoes with melted butter.

Step 4

Scatter some of the ham,then some of grated cheese over. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Continue layering,reserving a little of melted butter. Finish with a layer of potato topped with grated cheese. Pour the milk over and brush with remaining melted butter.

Step 5

Bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender and cheese has melted.
