- 5 oz (150 g) butter
- 5 oz (150 g) white sugar
- 2 eggs,beaten
- 7 oz (210 g) self-raising flour
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon orange essence
- zest and juice of 1 orange
- 3 tablespoons icing sugar
Set turbo oven temperature to 356°F (180°C).
In a mixing bowl,combine butter and sugar. Beat until creamy,then add eggs,beat again.
Add the flour,milk,orange essence and zest. Beat well.
Grease ovenproof dish with cooking spray. Pour egg mixture into greased dish.
Place on the low grilling rack of halogen oven and cook for 30-40 minutes,until firm and cooked.
Transfer oven baked orange cake onto a cooling rack.
In mixing bowl,combine orange juice and icing sugar. Mix well and pour mixture over cooled cake.
Decorate oven baked orange cake with a few slices of candied orange peel.
