Oven Baked Teriyaki Spare Ribs Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 pounds (1440 g) spare ribs
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
- 1/2 cup peeled and sliced yellow onion
- 2 tablespooons brown sugar
- 1 garlic clove, peeled and finely sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sherry
- 3 cups (750 ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
- 5 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Method
Step 1
Slice spareribs in half through the middle and separate into 3-inches(7.5 cm) pieces. Place in a 3-quart(3L) stove-top casserole.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
Step 3
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, onion, sugar, garlic, ginger, salt, sherry, and orange juice. Mix well and pour mixture over spareribs.
Step 4
Cover casserole and cook for 1 hour, turning spare ribs every 20 minutes. Dissolve cornstarch in water and set aside.
Step 5
Arrange oven baked spareribs teriyaki in a serving plate and keep warm. Skim excess fat off the sauce and add dissolved cornstarch.
Step 6
Stir over high heat for 5 minutes or until sauce thickens. Pour sauce over spareribs.
