Roasted Crab Legs with Drawn Butter

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds (960 g) crab legs
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Drawn butter (recipe follows)
  • For Drawn Butter:
  • 1/2 pound (240 g) unsalted butter

Method

Step 1

To prepare Drawn Butter: In a small pot, heat 2 cups water. Melt butter in the hot water. Remove pot from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Refrigerate and allow to chill. Drawn butter is ready.

Step 2

Preheat oven to 425 F (220 C).

Step 3

Separate crab legs into segments. With kitchen shears, cut the shell of the leg segments in halves lengthwise making a small trough in which to present the meat. Place the crab meat segments into the shell halves and baste with drawn butter.

Step 4

Roast in preheated oven for 5-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove roasted crab legs from the oven and serve immediately.
