Slow-Cooked Steak with Mushrooms Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound (480 g) boneless beef round steak, cut inch (2.5 cm) thick, fat trimmed
- 2 medium yellow onion, peeled and sliced
- 2 4½-oz (135 ml) jars whole mushrooms, drained
- 12 oz (360 ml) jar beef gravy
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) dry red wine
Method
Step 1
Cut the beef into 4 serving-size pieces. Set aside.
Step 2
In a 4-quart (4 L) slow cooker, place sliced onions. Top with drained mushrooms and sliced beef.
Step 3
In a medium mixing bowl, combine beef gravy and dry red wine. Stir well. Pour the gravy mixture over the beef.
Step 4
Close the pot and cook on low-heat setting for 8-10 hours or until beef and mushrooms are tender.
Step 5
Turn off the slow cooker and open the lid. Remove cooked beef from the cooker and transfer to serving plates. Serve over cooked noodles. Pour the mushroom-beef gravy over. Enjoy!
