How to Prepare Non-Alcoholic Wassail:

Very delicious mixed drink cooked in a slow cooker.

makes 1 cup (250 ml)

Ingredients: 16 oz (480 ml) can apricot halves, undrained, 4 cups (1 L) unsweetened pineapple juice, 2 cups (500 ml) apple cider, 1 cup (250 ml) freshly squeezed orange juiceย  (without pulp), 18 whole cloves, 6 3ยฝ-inch (8 cm) cinnamon sticks, broken

Instructions: Pour undrained apricot halves into a blender. blend until smooth. Place cloves and cinnamon sticks in a cheesecloth bag.

Combine all ingredients in a 4-6 quart (4-6 l) slow cooker. Cover cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 3-4 hours.

Turn off the slow cooker and open the lid. Pour the wassail into a cup. Serve hot.

  • 2 cups (500 ml) cranberry juice
  • 1/3-2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon aromatic bitters
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice
  • 1 small orange, sliced
  • 1 cup (250 ml) rum

Method

Step 1

In a 4-6-quarts (406 l) slow cooker, combine all ingredients. Stir well.

Step 2

Cover the cooker and cook on a low-heat setting for 4-8 hours.

Step 3

Turn off the slow cooker and open the lid. Stir the wassail well and pour into cups. Serve it warm.
