Stilton pork chops with apple sage. Delicious pork chops with Stilton cheese and apples cooked in the oven.

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper ,to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 granny Smith apples,unpeeled,cored and sliced into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • a few fresh sage leaves
  • 3½ oz (100g) Stilton cheese,crumbled

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 F (200 C).

Step 2

Slash the pork fat along the edge of the chops all the way to the meat. Season meat with salt and black pepper on both sides.

Step 3

In a large nonstick skillet,heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add seasoned pork chops and cook until golden brown (for3-5 minutes).

Step 4

Remove cooked pork chops from the heat and set aside.

Step 5

Add butter and apples to the pan. Fry ,stirring ,until golden.

Step 6

Top each pork chop with cooked apples. Place sage leaves over top.

Step 7

Place pork chops into preheated oven and roast for 4-5 minutes.

Step 8

Remove meat from the oven. Spread crumbled Stilton cheese over the top of meat. Return to the oven and cook until cheese melted.
