Sunset daiquiri fruity drink recipe. This is a refreshing, rum-based mixed drink recipe. Very easy to prepare. Alcoholic cocktail with, rum (I used Cruzan® Aged Dark Rum, this is the best one) Passion Fruit Syrup, lemon juice, and grenadine syrup.
You can prepare Passion Fruit Syrup at home if desired (recipe adapted from http://www.pbs.org/food/fresh-tastes/passion-fruit-syrup/)
Homemade Passion Fruit Syrup Recipe
Ingredients: 1 cup (250 ml) sugar, 1 cup (250 ml) water, 1½ cups (375 ml) passion fruit pulps
Instructions: In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Mix until sugar is dissolved. Bring sugar mixture to a boil over high heat. Boil for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, then stir in passion fruit pulps and cook, stirring, for a further 1 minute.
Turn off the heat. Remove the saucepan and transfer to a cold water bath. Allow chilling completely.
Strain chilled passion fruit syrup, discarding seeds. Enjoy! P.S This delicious syrup is great on drinks or on pancakes.

Homemade Grenadine Syrup Recipe
Makes 1 cup (250 ml)
Ingredients: 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup (250 ml) 100% unsweetened pomegranate juice, half of the lemon
Instructions: In a small saucepan, combine sugar and pomegranate juice. Stir until sugar is dissolved, then bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil for 5 minutes or until pomegranate mixture slightly thickened.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Allow cooling. Taste the mixture and stir in a few drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Pour cooled grenadine syrup in a clean bottle and store in a refrigerator for up to one month.

Sunset Daiquiri Fruity Drink Recipe
- 3 oz (30 ml) rum
- 2 oz (60 ml) passion fruit syrup
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/4 oz (7.5 ml) grenadine syrup
- fresh mint leaves
In a blender filled with crushed ice, combine all ingredients, except maraschino cherries. Blend well.
Strain rum mixture into a cocktail glass. Garnish with fresh mint leave. Serve cold.
