Air fryer jacket potato. Make yummy baked potatoes in an air fryer! They will have crispy skins and soft insides, just like if you baked them in an oven. But it will take less time!
Air Fryer Jacket Potato
This simple recipe for Air Fryer Jacket Potatoes can be customized with various toppings like Greek yogurt, chives, broccoli, and cheese. If you have questions about making them in an air fryer, this post will give you all the information you need.
Baked potatoes go well with air fryer steak, pork, or chicken and a salad. Donβt worry if you donβt have an air fryer β Iβll also explain how to bake them in the oven, microwave, or slow cooker.
How Long to Cook Jacket Potato in an Air Fryer?
To cook a medium-sized potato, like a russet or Idaho, it will take about 35-40 minutes at 400 degrees. Remember to flip them over in the middle of cooking. When a knife can easily go into the middle of the potato, itβs ready.
Do You Need to Poke a Hole in a Potato Before Cooking it in an Air Fryer?
Piercing potatoes before air frying is a good idea. It lets the steam come out while they cook.
Should I Cover My Potato with Foil Before Cooking it in an Air Fryer?
Donβt put foil on potatoes because it will make the skin soggy. Instead, bake them in an air fryer without wrapping them. I like to spray the skin with olive oil and sprinkle salt on it to make it crispy and delicious. The skin is also healthy because it has lots of fiber.
Jacket Potato Toppings
BBQ: Sauce, shredded pork or chicken, cheese, and scallions.
Butter:
β Use butter, ghee, or coconut oil.
β Sprinkle with salt and pepper for extra flavor.
Loaded Potatoes:

Stuffed Potatoes: Some of my favorite recipes for stuffed potatoes include Turkey Chili Baked Potatoes, Philly Cheesesteak Potatoes, and Chicken Enchilada Stuffed Potatoes.
Air Fryer Jacket Potato
Ingredients
- 4 medium Russet potatoes, washed and dried
- olive oil spray
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Method
Step 1
To prepare potatoes, poke them with a fork. This helps them cook well.
Step 2
Spray a little oil on each potato and sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of salt on them.
Step 3
Put the potatoes in the basket and cook them in the air fryer at 400F for about 35 to 40 minutes. Make sure to turn them over halfway through. To see if they're done, try sticking a knife into the center of each potato.
Step 4
To serve the potatoes, cut them in half and sprinkle the remaining salt and pepper on top. Then, add any toppings you like.
