Air fryer Southern-Style chicken recipe. Learn how to cook yummy and crispy Southern-Style chicken in an air fryer. Please note, the cooking time is just an estimate and can vary based on the Air Fryer model. I used my Kyvol Air Fryer.
Air Fryer Southern-Style Chicken Recipe

- 2 cups crushed Ritz crackers
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon sage
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 3-4 pounds broiler chicken, cut up
Preheat your air fryer to 375 F (190 C) for 5 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, except beaten egg. Stir well. Place egg in a separated bowl.
Dip chicken pieces in beaten egg first, then coat in crack mixture.
Grease the sir fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Place chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray the top with more spray.
Cook at 375 F (190C) for 20 minutes or until chicken is golden brown, turning halfway through and sprinkling with more spray.
