Best Pressure Cooker Saffron Basmati Rice
Ingredients
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups (750 ml) chicken broth
- 1 Β½ cups long-grain basmati rice
Method
Step 1
In a small mixing bowl, combine saffron threads and 1 tablespoon of warm water. Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes.
Step 2
In a pressure cooker, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in ground ginger, salt, and saffron mixture. Cook, stirring, until aromatic, for about 30 seconds. Pour in chicken broth and stir in rice.
Step 3
Close the pressure cooker and lock the lid. Set burner heat to high pressure. When the cooker reaches high pressure, reduce heat to low. Set timer to cook for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Turn off the pressure cooker. Use the Quick Release method to reduce the pressure to normal (do not open the pressure cooker!) Set aside for 10 minutes to steam the rice.
Step 5
Open cooker. Stir well rice. Transfer to a serving platter. Serve as a side dish.
