Crock Pot Honey-Garlic Shredded Beef Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) beef stock
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- 1 large carrot, peeled and julienned
- 1 medium yellow onion, peeled and sliced
- 1.4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 pounds (960 g) beef roast, cut in half lengthwise
- 6 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
Method
Step 1
In a slow cooker, combine beef stock, carrots, honey, onions, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic. Mix well.
Step 2
Place the beef slices, side-by-side in the crock pot. Turn to coat with the vegetable mixture.
Step 3
Cover the pot and cook on low-heat setting for 8 hours or until beef and vegetables are tender.
Step 4
Turn off the slow cooker and open the lid. Using tongs, remove cooked meat from the crock pot and transfer to a cutting board. Using two forks, shred the beef.
Step 5
Return shredded meat to the cooker and toss well to coat with the liquid. Serve hot.
