Ingredients: 8 cups (2 L) cubed skinless chicken, 1 medium yellow onion, peeled and chopped, 1 cup (250 ml) chopped celery, 2 cups (500 ml) mayonnaise, 1 cup (250 ml) cubed American cheese, buns

Instructions: In a 4-6-quart (4-6 l) crock pot, combine all ingredients, except buns. Cover and cook on high-heat setting for 2 hours. Turn off the crock pot and open the lid. Stir chicken mixture well before serving. Serve in the bubs.

  • 6 cups cooked skinless chicken, diced
  • 2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (500 ml) ketchup
  • 2 cups (500 ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

Step 1

In a crock pot, combine all ingredients. Stir well.

Step 2

Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 8 hours.

Step 3

Turn off the crock pot and open the lid. Stir chicken until it shreds.

Step 4

Serve on buns.
