Easy homemade baby applesauce recipe. Very easy and healthy baby applesauce cooked in a pressure cooker. Sprinkle with grated cinnamon before serving. You may also like Baby Apple and Fennel Puree
Pressure Cooker Baby Apple and Fennel Puree
This baby puree has plenty of aromas and a gentle taste of anise. Store it in the refrigerator for 1-2 days, or in freezer up to 3 months.
Makes 2 cups (500 ml)
Ingredients: 1 cup (250 ml) filtered water, 2 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced, 1 medium fennel bulb, fronds trimmed and discarded and white bulb chopped, 1 cup (250 ml) filtered water
Instructions: Place a trivet and steamer rack in the stovetop pressure cooker. Pour in 1 cup (250 ml) filtered water. Arrange sliced apples on the rack as evenly as possible, covering completely the rack. Top with a chopped fennel bulb.
Close pressure cooker and lock the lid. Set burner heat to high pressure. When cooker reaches high pressure, reduce heat to low. Set timer to cook for 3 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat. Open the pressure cooker, using the Quick Release method. Remove the steamer rack and transfer baked fennel and apples to a food processor. Process until smooth, adding the steaming water as needed to get the consistency you prefer.

Ingredients
- 3 large apples, peeled, cored and cut into wedges
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) filtered water
- ground cinnamon

Step 1
Cut each apple wedge into 2-3 pieces crosswise.
Step 2
Place a trivet and steamer rack in the stovetop pressure cooker. Add filtered water. Place chunked apples on the rack as evenly as possible.
Step 3
Close pressure cooker and lock the lid. Set burner heat to high pressure. When cooker reaches high pressure, reduce heat to low. Set timer to cook for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Remove the pot from the heat. Open the pressure cooker, using the Natural Release method. allow cooling for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Transfer cooked apples to a large bowl. Puree apples by stirring or mashing with a fork or a silicone spatula. Set aside and let cool applesauce completely.
