Easy homemade pizza recipe. Make an excellent vegetarian pizza at home! Adapted from http://life-in-the-lofthouse.com To prepare the pizza dough at home you need to use the following ingredients:
1 cup (250 ml) warm water
1 tablespoon each -(clear honey, vegetable oil, instant yeast)
1 teaspoon salt
2½ cups all-purpose flour
Makes enough dough for 1 large pizza or 2 small.
In the bowl of electric mixer, combine water, honey, yeast, vegetable oil, and salt. Mix well.
Add all-purpose flour gradually until dough forms. Pulls away from the sides of bowl. Dough should be soft and smooth. Knead dough in the bowl for 3 minutes. Remove from bowl, wrap with plastic wrap and set aside for 10 minutes.
Shape and flatten pizza dough out onto greased pizza pan. Add sauce and toppings.
Preheat oven to 425º F (215º C). Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until edges of dough are golden-brown.
Easy Homemade Pizza Recipe
- Pizza dough (see recipe above)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 3 Roma tomatoes,thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 10 fresh basil leaves, chopped
- salt and freshly ground black pepper,to taste
Preheat oven to 425 F (215 C). Grease pizza pan with nonstick cooking spray. Shape and flatten dough out onto prepared pizza pan.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, and kosher salt. Mix well. Add sliced Roma tomatoes and toss well to coat with oil mixture. Set aside and let tomatoes marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Brush the top of pizza dough with 1 tablespoon oil marinade. Sprinkle evenly with 1½ cups Mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Top with marinated tomatoes. Sprinkle freshly chopped basil over. Cover tomatoes and basil with remaining 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese. Season with salt and black pepper.
Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until crust edges are golden-brown. Turn off oven and remove baked pizza. Set aside for 5 minutes before slicing.
