Fried cod croquettes. Deep-fried crunchy cod croquettes. Very easy and tasty appetizer. You may also like Baked Cod Steaks
Fried Cod Croquettes
- 1 pound cooked cod fillets, finely minced
- 1 pound (480 g) mashed potatoes
- grated nutmeg
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- dried breadcrumbs
- 1 lemon, sliced
- salt & freshly ground black pepper to taste
- vegetable oil
In a large bowl, combine minced cod fillets with potatoes. Season with salt, black pepper, and grated nutmeg.
Make small round shapes of the mixture. Dip croquettes in beaten egg, then in breadcrumbs.
Heat vegetable oil in deep-fryer to 360° F(180° C). Add croquettes and fry for 5-7 minutes, until golden.
Remove fried cod croquettes and drain on kitchen paper. Serve fried cod croquettes hot with lemon slices.
