Grilled lamb chops with lemon and basil. Marinated lamb chops grilled over charcoal or gas grill.


  • 4 lamb shoulder chops,cut 3/4-inch thick
  • 1 garlic clove,minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil,finely chopped
  • freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • grated zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil


Step 1

Put lamb chops in cooking dish. In a small bowl,combine together remaining ingredients. Mix well. Pour mixture over lamb chops. Cover with a plastic wrap and marinate,turning 1-2 times,2-3 hours at room temperature.

Step 2

Light a grill.Arrange lamb chops on an oiled grill set 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) from coals. Cook,turning occasionally and brushing with reserved marinade,until well browned,about 10-12 minutes. Serve grilled lamb chops with cooked rice and vegetables.
