Fried Chicken Legs Recipe

Chicken legs fried in the oven. Simple and tasty!

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients: 4 chicken legs, skinned, 1 cup all-purpose flour, ¼ cup (60 ml) 10% cream, 3 large eggs, beaten, 2 cups breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoons peanut oil, Tabasco sauce, salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375 F (190 C). Season chicken drumsticks with salt and black pepper, then dredge in all-purpose flour. In a small mixing bowl, combine the cream and beaten eggs. Mix well. Sprinkle with Tabasco sauce. Dip seasoned chicken legs in egg mixture and coat with breadcrumbs.

Preheat peanut oil in a sauté pan. Add chicken legs and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side. The place cooked chicken legs in the preheated oven and continue to cook for a further 10-12 minutes.

Turn off the oven. Remove fried chicken legs and transfer to a serving platter. Serve with a barbecue sauce.

Homemade Barbecue Sauce for Chicken

This sweet, tangy, and smoky sauce is absolutely delicious on everything!

Makes 1²⁄³ cups (400 ml)

Ingredients: 1 cup (250 ml) ketchup,   1/2 cup (125 ml) apple cider vinegar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/3 oz (10 ml) vegetable oil, 1½ teaspoons Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon(5 ml) sriracha sauce, 1/2 teaspoon ancho chili powder, 6 drops liquid smoke, 1 large clove garlic, peeled and very finely minced, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce

Instructions: In a small pot, combine all ingredients. Whisk well and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes.

Remove the pot from the heat and allow the sauce to cool completely. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Oven Baked Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds (960 g) skin-on chicken drumsticks
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) water
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

Step 1

Rub chicken drumsticks with salt and black pepper. Transfer to plastic container. Cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Pour water into the bottom of turbo oven. Place grilling rack.

Step 3

Remove marinated chicken drumsticks from the refrigerator. Arrange on grilling rack.

Step 4

Set oven temperature to 430 F (220 C). Bake for 25 minutes or until chicken drumsticks are golden brown. Serve hot with fresh vegetables.
