Oven baked chicken with paprika. Whole chicken with vegetables and spices baked in halogen (turbo) oven.

Ingredients

  • 2 red onions,peeled and cut into wedges
  • 6 garlic cloves,unpeeled
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1½ tablespoons olive oil
  • whole fresh chicken
  • few sprigs of rosemary
  • 2 red peppers,cored,seeded and cut into wide strips
  • 10 oz (300 g) spicy sausages,skinned and thinly sliced
  • 4 tomatoes,cut into halves
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method

Step 1

Combine onion wedges and unpeeled garlic in a large roasting pan. Stir in 1 teaspoon paprika and 1/2 tablespoon oil. Arrange the whole chicken on top. Brush with remaining olive oil. Sprinkle over the remaining paprika and season to taste with salt and black pepper. Insert a couple of rosemary sprigs into the chicken cavity. Preheat turbo oven to 400°F (200°C).

Step 2

Place roasting pan with chicken on the lower grilling rack and cook for 30 minutes. Transfer the oven baked chicken to a plate. Add the peppers,spicy sausages and tomato halves to the roasting pan. Stir to combine and arrange chicken on top of mixture. Cover turbo oven and cook for 25-30 minutes more,or until chicken is cooked through.
