Oven Baked Parmesan Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 quarts (3 L) cold water
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 8 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon frshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 4 pounds (1.9 kg) chicken wings, separated
  • 2 tablespoons fine breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese, divided

Method

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 450º F (225º C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, then grease with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2

In a large pot, combine the water, balsamic vinegar, 1/4 cup salt, bay leaf, thyme, oregano, and rosemary. Stir well, then bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Add chicken wings, then return to a boil. Cook, uncovered, for a 15 minutes.

Step 4

Using a slotted spoon, remove boiled wings from the pot. Set aside and allow to dry for 15 minutes.

Step 5

Meanwhile, In a mortar, combine minced garlic and pinch of salt. Using a pestle, mash until smooth.

Step 6

In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed garlic mixture, olive oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add boiled chicken wings and breadcrumbs. Toss well to coat wings completely. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.

Step 7

Transfer to greased baking sheet, thensprinklewith remianing Parmesan cheese. Bake in preheated oven until wings are nicely browned, for 20-25 minutes.
