- 3 firm fresh pears,peeled,cored and cut into halves lengthwise
- 1 cup (250 ml) grenadine syrup
- freshly squeezed juice of 1/2 lemon
Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Place pear halves in a baking pan,cut side down.
In a mixing bowl,combine the grenadine with lemon juice. Mix well and pour over the pears.
Bake the pears for 45-50 minutes,or until tender when tested with a toothpick. Baste pears frequently with the syrup.
Chill oven baked pears with grenadine syrup in refrigerator. Serve cold with baking syrup.
