Pressure Cooker Cola-Infused Beef Ribs

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 rack of beef ribs, cut into individual ribs
  • 1 cup (250 ml) cola-flavored soda

Method

Step 1

In a small mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Mix well. Rub beef ribs with the spice mixture.

Step 2

Close the pot and lock the lid.

Step 3

Pour cola in a pressure cooker. Place the pressure cooker basket inside the cooker. Lay beef ribs in the basket.

Step 4

Set the machine to cook at high pressure. Set the timer to cook for 45 minutes.

Step 5

Open pressure cooker, using Quick Release mode. Using tongs, transfer cooked ribs to a large baking sheet.

Step 6

Defat the sauce in the pot, pouring it into a fat separator. Pour skimmed sauce back into the pressure cooker.

Step 7

Bring sauce to a simmer in the pressure cooker turned to the sauté mode Cook, stirring until sauce reduced by half.

Step 8

Set the broiler rack 4-6 inches (10-12 cm) from the heat. Brush beef ribs with a sauce. Broil until glazed and hot, turning once, for about 3 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
