Slow Cooker Beer-Braised Beef Short Ribs Recipe
Ingredients
- 5 pounds (2½ kg) beef short ribs
- 14½ oz (435 ml) can beef broth
- 12 oz (360 ml) can dark beer
- 1 medium yellow onion, peeled and cut into thin wedges
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) molasses
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
- 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Method
Step 1
Trim fat from ribs, then place meat in a 6-quart (6 L) slow cooker. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Step 2
Cover the pot and cook on low-heat setting for 11-12 hours or until ribs are tender.
Step 3
Turn off the cooker and open the lid. Using a slotted spoon, transfer ribs to a serving plate, reserving cooking liquid. Skim fat from the liquid.
Step 4
Serve cooked ribs with gravy over mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
