Slow Cooker Ham Carbonara Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup diced bacon
- 1 pound (480 g) cubed ham
- 1 yellow onion, peeled and diced
- 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1¼ cups (310 ml) chicken stock
- 1¼ cups (310 ml) heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 pound (240 g) cooked pasta
Method
Step 1
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add diced bacon and cook until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Step 2
In a 6-quart (6 L) slow cooker, combine the ham, onion, mushrooms, crumbled bacon, garlic, and chicken stock. Mix slightly.
Step 3
Cover the pot and cook on low-heat setting for 6 hours.
Step 4
In a small mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water. Mix until cornstarch dissolved completely. Add cornstarch mixture together with heavy cream to the slow cooker. Stir in cooked pasta and heat for 5-10 minutes.
Step 5
Serve hot.
