Ingredients
- 2 pounds (960 g) ham hock
- 2-3 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 16 oz (480 g) frozen green beans, thawed
- 1 large carrot, peeled and chopped
Method
Step 1
Place ham hocks in 4-6 quart (4-6 L) slow cooker. Cover with cold water.
Step 2
Cover the pot and cook on high-heat setting for 5 hours or until ham is very tender. 2-3 hours before, add the potatoes, carrots, and green beans to the crock pot, adding more water if necessary.
Step 3
Open the lid. Using tongs, remove cooked meat from the cooker. Remove and discard any fat and bones, then return meat to slow cooker. Stir well.
