Slow Cooker Meatballs Florentine Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh spinach leaves, washed
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 pound (480 g) lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
Method
Step 1
In a food processor, combine spinach, ricotta cheese, egg, green onions, garlic, and seasonings. Process until smooth.
Step 2
Remove cheese mixture form the food processor and transfer to a large bowl. Mix with ground beef and breadcrumbs. Shape the mixture into 8-12 meatballs.
Step 3
Transfer meatballs to the slow cooker. Pour the spaghetti sauce over, cover meatballs.
Step 4
Close the pot and cook on low-heat setting for 5-6 hours.
