Slow cooker pulled pork sandwiches recipe. Yesterday, I cooked in a slow cooker pulled chicken. Today I try to make pulled pork in a slow cooker. Serve it with delicious homemade white barbecue sauce.
How to Make Pulled Pork Sandwiches in a Slow Cooker
Slow cooker pulled pork sandwiches are a delicious and easy meal to make. The slow cooker does all the work for you, resulting in tender and flavorful pulled pork that is perfect for sandwiches. To make these sandwiches, you will need 2 pounds of boneless pork loin roast and a homemade Brown Sugar Rub.
Start by rubbing the Brown Sugar Rub all over the pork loin roast, making sure to coat it evenly. This rub adds a sweet and savory flavor to the pork. Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker and pour in 1/2 cup of chicken broth. The broth helps to keep the pork moist as it cooks.
Cover the slow cooker and cook the pork on low heat for 8-10 hours or on high heat for 4-6 hours. The long cooking time allows the pork to become tender and easily shredded. Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
To assemble the sandwiches, place a generous amount of pulled pork on a small bun. You can also add your favorite barbecue sauce or a tangy White Barbecue sauce for extra flavor. Serve the sandwiches with coleslaw or pickles for a complete meal.
Making pulled pork sandwiches in a slow cooker is a convenient and delicious way to enjoy this classic dish. The slow cooking process ensures that the pork is tender and full of flavor. Try this recipe for your next gathering or weeknight dinner.
Pork Sandwiches Serving Suggestions
When it comes to serving pulled pork sandwiches, there are endless possibilities to explore. Here are a few serving suggestions to elevate your pork sandwiches and create a memorable meal.
1. Classic BBQ Style: Top your pulled pork sandwiches with your favorite barbecue sauce. Whether it’s a tangy tomato-based sauce or a sweet and smoky one, the combination of tender pork and flavorful sauce is a match made in heaven. Add some coleslaw on top for a refreshing crunch and a hint of creaminess.
2. Spicy Kick: If you’re a fan of heat, consider adding some spice to your pulled pork sandwiches. Sprinkle some hot sauce or chili flakes on top of the pork for an extra kick. You can also experiment with different types of peppers, such as jalapenos or pickled banana peppers, to add some heat and tanginess.
3. Asian Fusion: Give your pulled pork sandwiches an Asian twist by adding some Asian-inspired toppings. Drizzle some hoisin sauce or teriyaki sauce on top of the pork and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. You can also add some pickled vegetables, like carrots and daikon radish, for a burst of tangy flavor.
4. Cheesy Goodness: Who can resist the combination of pulled pork and melted cheese? Add a slice of your favorite cheese, such as cheddar or pepper jack, on top of the pork and let it melt to perfection. Serve the sandwiches with a side of cheesy fries or mac and cheese for the ultimate comfort food experience.
5. Breakfast Twist: Don’t limit yourself to enjoying pulled pork sandwiches only for lunch or dinner. Transform them into a delicious breakfast option by adding a fried egg on top. The runny yolk adds a creamy richness that pairs perfectly with the tender pork.
