Slow Cooker Sirloin Roast with Horseradish Cream
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 4 pounds (about 2 kg) boneless beef sirloin roast,trimmed and halved
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) beef broth
- Horseradish Sauce (see recipe below)
Method
Step 1
Grease a slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine salt, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and black pepper. Mix well.
Step 3
Spread oregano mixture over roast halves and spray with cooking spray.
Step 4
Spray a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Heat over medium-high heat. Add seasoned meat and brown on all sides.
Step 5
Place browned beef in the greased slow cooker.
Step 6
Add beef broth to skillet and cook, scraping to loosen browned bits. Pour broth over beef in the slow cooker.
Step 7
Cover slow cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 6-8 hours. Remove cooked meat from the slow cooker. Transfer to a serving platter and let stand for 15 minutes before slicing. Serve meat with Horseradish Sauce.
Step 8
To make Horseradish Sauce, combine 2/3 cup(160 ml) nonfat sour cream, 1/4 cup (60 ml) nonfat mayonnaise,2 tablespoons prepared horseradish,1/4 teaspoon lemon juice, and 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
