Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 ml) cashews
  • 1 cup (250 ml) toasted almonds
  • 1 cup (250 ml) toasted pecans, halved
  • 1 cup (250 ml) toasted hazelnuts
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon grpund cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Method

Step 1

In a 3½-quart (3½ L) slow cooker, combine all nuts and cookies (optional). Stir well.

Step 2

In a small mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Mix well and add the butter mixture to the pan, stirring to coat nuts and cookies.

Step 3

Cover the cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 2 hours, stirring at the end of cooking time.

Step 4

Grease with butter a large sheet of aluminum foil. Spread cooked nuts and cookies in a single layer on the greased foil. Cool for at least 1 hour.
