Traditional Scandinavian Egg Coffee Recipe
Ingredients
- 4Β½ quarts (4Β½ L) cold fresh water
- 1Β½ cups (370 ml) regular grind Scandinavian blend coffee
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) cold fresh water
Method
Step 1
In a large saucepan, boil 4Β½ quarts(4Β½ L) water.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, combine coffee and egg white, reserving the shell. Mix well and stir the egg mixture and shell into boiling water. Return to a boil.
Step 3
Remove from heat and set aside for a couple of minutes. Slowly pour in cold water to help settle the grounds.
Step 4
Strain, and serve Scandinavian egg coffee into large and warm mugs.
