Easy Homemade Phyllo Dough Recipe
Ingredients: 10 oz (300 g) all-purpose flour, 5 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar, 1 teaspoon salt, 3/4 cup (180 ml) water
Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the vinegar and olive oil. With a dough hook, mix to combine all ingredients for 10-15 seconds.
Pour in 1/2 cup (125 ml) water. Mix until flour absorb water (the dough should become like an elastic ball). If the dough is still crumbled, add a little bit more water. When your dough has a good consistency, cut it into balls, then coat it lightly with olive oil, wrap with a plastic wrap and set aside for 45-60 minutes.
Place one dough ball on a floured surface. Coat your rolling pin with some flour. Make a circle of dough with your hands, making sure your dough plenty of flour. Using a rolling pin, roll out phyllo dough. Roll it as thinner, as you can.

Phyllo Dough Apple Strudel Dessert Recipe
Ingredients
- 3/4 pound apples, cored, pared, and diced
- 2 tablespoons dark raisins
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 6 frozen phyllo dough sheets
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon confectioners sugar
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 F (175 C).
Step 2
In medium mixing bowl place apple, raisins, apple pie spice, granulated sugar, lemon peel, cornstarch; toss to combine.
Step 3
On clean surface unroll one sheet of phyllo dough. Cover remaining sheets with plastic wrap and set aside.
Step 4
With a pastry brush, brush one teaspoon margarine over the unrolled sheet of phyllo dough. Repeat process with remaining phyllo dough sheets and margarine, making a stack.
Step 5
Spoon apple mixture over stacked phyllo dough sheets, leaving a 4-inch border on one wide side of the stack and 3-inch border on remaining sides. Fold borders over mixture. Start from the wide side, roll jelly-roll fashion to enclose the mixture.
Step 6
With a paring knife, cut 4 slits in the top of the stacked phyllo dough to allow steam to escape. 5. Spray a nonstick baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and put your apple dessert on the baking sheet, seam side down. Cook in middle of center oven rack for 20-25 min(until strudel is lightly browned).
Step 7
Chill on a wire rack. Sprinkle evenly with confectioners sugar.
