Baked chicken breast Parmesan recipe. Breaded chicken breasts with pasta sauce and cheese baked in an oven. Very easy and tasty chicken breast recipe. You can cook it in a slow cooker if desired (recipe adapted from https://www.chef-in-training.com/ ).

To make this recipe in the slow cooker, you need to use the following ingredients: 2-4 boneless and skinless chicken breasts,

2-4 boneless and skinless chicken breasts, 1/2 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 large egg, beaten, sliced or shredded Mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce

Instructions: Lightly grease slow cooker with 1 tablespoon olive oil. In a small mixing bowl, combine grated Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, and seasoning. Mix well. Dip chicken breasts into beaten egg, then into bread crumb mixture, coating well both sides of meat with egg and bread crumb mixture. Place chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker. Top with 2-3 slices of Mozzarella cheese. Pour over marinara sauce.

Cover slow cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 5-6 hours or until chicken breasts are tender. Turn off slow cooker. using tongs, remove cooked chicken from slow cooker and transfer to a serving platter. Serve over cooked pasta.

Baked Chicken Breast Parmesan Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 boneless and skinless chicken breast halves
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) mayonnaise (such as Hellmann's)
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) pasta sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 F (220 C).

Step 2

In a mixing bowl,combine bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well and set aside.

Step 3

In a large plastic bag,combine chicken breasts and mayonnaise. Shake well to evenly coat.

Step 4

Remove chicken breasts from the bag. Dip into bread crumb mixture. Arrange breaded chicken breasts on a baking sheet.

Step 5

Place baking sheet in preheated oven. Bake for 20 minutes.

Step 6

Top baked chicken breasts with pasta sauce,then with shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake fro a further 3 minutes,or until chicken is thoroughly cooked and cheese is melted.
