Easy homemade garlic bread recipe. French loaf with garlic and butter baked in the oven. Very delicious. I’d like to speak a little about garlic. Garlic is so old that its country of origin is not certain. Its uses are recorded in legend and history.

The ancient Greeks and Romans consumed large quantities of garlic.

Throughout the ages, it has been distinguished for its antiseptic properties, both internally and externally. Garlic bulbs are available from stores; each bulb is made up of separate sections called cloves, each covered by a thin skin which is peeled off before using.

Garlic is also marketed in several ways, crushed to a fine powder, or mixed with salt as a flavoring. It also shredded into fine, dehydrated chips, which may be reconstituted in liquid. Use a French dressing, butter for spreads, sauces, dips, and meal dishes, with tomatoes and eggplant, in pickles, salads, and seafood, and for garlic bread.
