- 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound (480 g) diced beef
- 1 yellow onion, peeled and chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
- 3 carrots, peeled and chunked
- 1 cup (250 ml) water
- 1 cup (250 ml) beef stock
- 2 tablespoons gravy granules
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree
- chopped green onions, for garnish
Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add cubed beef and cook until browned on all sides.
Remove browned beef from the skillet and transfer it as well as any pan juices to a slow cooker. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Cover the pot and cook on a high-heat setting for 4-5 hours ( low-heat setting for 7-8 hours)
Turn off the slow cooker and open the lid. Remove cooked beef and vegetables from the slow cooker and transfer them to a serving plate. Sprinkle with chopped green onions. Serve hot.
